ATI® Essentials Mixed Reef | Two-Part System
Optimal Growth & Color for the Modern Mixed Reef
ATI® Essentials Mixed Reef is a state-of-the-art, highly concentrated two-part system designed to simplify the maintenance of mixed reef aquariums. Developed using data from tens of thousands of ATI® ICP laboratory analyses, this system provides a perfect balance of all major and essential trace elements. Specifically formulated for aquariums with medium-to-high fish stocking and a diverse mix of corals, it ensures optimal metabolism and distinctive coloration without the risk of unwanted element accumulation.
Key Benefits & Features
-
Comprehensive Major Element Supply: Maintains critical levels of Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium, Boron, Bromine, Fluorine, Potassium, Sulfur, and Strontium.
-
Essential Trace Elements: Provides a baseline supply of Iron, Iodine, Selenium, Cobalt, Lithium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel, Rubidium, Vanadium, and Zinc.
-
Nutrient Management: The #1 KH Complex utilizes organic KH sources that have a natural nitrate and phosphate-reducing effect, making it ideal for systems with higher fish populations.
-
5x Concentration: Approximately five times more concentrated than traditional Balling methods, saving storage space and reducing the frequency of container refills.
-
Ready to Use: No tedious mixing or dissolving required. Both solutions are stable and ready for immediate connection to your dosing pump.
-
Ion Stability: Formulated to avoid "ion shift," maintaining a natural seawater composition even with long-term use.
Component Breakdown
#1 KH Complex
-
Concentration: 14,250 °dKH per liter.
-
Function: Provides alkalinity via a blend of organic and inorganic sources.
-
Added Essentials: Includes Fluorine, Sulfur, Iron, Iodine, and Selenium.
-
Benefit: Supports pH stabilization and assists in nutrient reduction.
#2 Calcium Complex
-
Concentration: 100,000 mg Calcium per liter.
-
Function: Replaces calcium consumed during coral calcification.
-
Added Essentials: Includes Boron, Bromine, Potassium, Magnesium, Strontium, Cobalt, Lithium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel, Rubidium, Vanadium, and Zinc.
SPS vs. Mixed Reef: Which is right for you?
| Feature | Essentials SPS | Essentials Mixed Reef |
| Primary Coral Type | SPS Dominated | Soft, LPS, & Mixed |
| pH Stabilization | Strong to Very Strong | Medium to Strong |
| Nutrient Reduction | No (Clean Baseline) | Yes (Organic KH Source) |
| ALK Source | Inorganic only | Organic & Inorganic |
Dosage & Application
The concentrations are perfectly aligned so that equal amounts of both solutions should be dosed.
-
Guideline: 3–7 ml per 100 liters (26 gal) per day.
-
Adjustment: Base your dosage on the daily consumption of Alkalinity and Calcium in your specific tank.
-
Monitoring: Use ATI® Test Kits or ATI® ICP Lab Analyses to track consumption and fine-tune your dosing schedule.
| Daily Calcium Consumption | Dosage of #2 Calcium Complex |
| 1 mg/l (ppm) | 1 ml per 100L (26 gal) |
| 2.5 mg/l (ppm) | 2.5 ml per 100L (26 gal) |
| 5 mg/l (ppm) | 5 ml per 100L (26 gal) |
Important Usage Notes
-
Crystal Formation: Due to high concentration, crystals may form in #1 KH Complex if stored below 20°C (68°F). Simply heat the bottle gently to approx. 45°C (115°F) or place it on a radiator to re-dissolve them.
-
Cold Environment Dilution: If your operating area is consistently cold, you can dilute both #1 and #2 at a 1:1 ratio with RO water. Ensure you double the dosing volume to maintain the same element delivery.
